Koshka 22
Age »» Twenty-two (22)
Gender »» Male
Species »» Test Subject – Group A (Caracal) - Loyal
Sexuality »» Asexual Heteroromantic (He really has no interest though)
Occupation »»Extremely loyal servant of the Scarlet Rose
Face Claim »» Pandora Hearts – Cheshire Cat
Powers »»
Koshka’s biggest powers are his freakishly-large paws (and claws), his extremely good hearing, and his speed. His DNA was mixed with that of a Caracal which led to his feline appearance. The way his arms and hands mutated was not expected and believed to be a problem until he began combat training. Thanks to his long arms he has a further reach than if he were to be using a sword short-sword. Whenever he’s fighting somebody in a melee-only fight, he’s pretty much sure to win. He can slash up his opponent with his large sharp claws before he’s even within his opponent’s reach. The large un-retractable claws aren’t his only weapon though. His large paws are also capable of inflicting lots of damage. Even if they’re nice and soft, they can pack a helluva punch/swipe/slap.
Other than his arm and paw – he also has better basic senses than an average human. When it comes to his eye-sight, he can see things clearly much farther than humans but all colors are grayer. He can also see exceptionally well in pitch-black environments which allows him to fight just as good in the dark as he can in the light. His last true advantage over others is his hearing. He can accurately pinpoint the location of something making noise within 41 feet of him. That on-top of his sense of smell which is approximately 18 times better than an average human; he can fight with his eyes closed and still be at 60% of his total combat ability. He can also move almost without making any noise from the natural instincts he’s developed from having his DNA mixed with a feline.
Koshka’s final true advantage over his opponents is his speed. He can run at 58 miles-per-hour. While not as fast as somebody with cheetah DNA would be, he’s still much faster than any normal human would be on foot. So overall if he were to fight against an average human without the proper training to take on a Test Subject, he’d be able to: fight with his eyes closed, run in circles (literally) around the opponent, cut his opponent with his claws while being unreachable, and more than likely not even get hurt. Normal humans are just no fun. Unfortunately, he really only prevails in combat whenever he ambushes his pray or they don’t have any means of attacking from a distance. Whenever he fights somebody who is good at ranged fighting and he doesn’t have the opportunity to attack before being noticed or he fails, he’ll be in for a uphill battle.
Appearance »»
Koshka stands at 5’10 and weighs 230 lbs. The reason why he weighs so much despite being extremely skinny is due to his arms. At the widest point of his arms, they are approximately 3 times as large as a muscular human’s arms would be. His arms are also so long that they almost touch the ground when standing straight up. He has long (for a guy, anyways) shaggy black hair with his black cat ears sticking out of the top-sides of it. He wears a slim black sleeveless suit with slender black pants at all times. He’s never seen wearing anything else. He also has a bell which he keeps tied around his neck that never makes any noise. Sometimes he wears long black jester boots which look as if they’re straight out of a circus, and sometimes he wears nothing on his feet. His feet have tiny spots of padding on the bottom due to the DNA but it doesn’t fully cover his feet. His feet will probably eventually turn into paws just like his hands.

Overall Personality »»
Koshka sees himself as nothing more than a pet to be used by the Scarlet Rose. Whenever he has nothing to do – it would seem as if he has no personality. He just waits for orders with no expression on his face and emptiness in his eyes. He has no interest in anything except following orders. Nothing is more exciting than receiving orders to go and capture people or to kill somebody. Whenever he’s in a fight that he’s confident he can win with ease – he begins to play with his opponent… or at that point he doesn’t consider them an opponent and just thinks of them as pray. He’ll also let his personality show at this point. He’ll begin smiling like a child who just woke up to a Christmas tree with tons of presents under it. He’ll also inflict deep but non-life-threatening cuts on his opponents even if he could capture them as they are.
He is a sadist and a masochist; he enjoys pain as much as he enjoys inflicting it. He also likes being talked down to and insulted by his superiors even though that rarely happens due to how obedient he is. The reason he wears the bell around his neck is to symbolize that he is nothing more than a pet of his superiors. He talks in 3rd person around everybody but his superiors because he believes that only his superiors, or “masters”, should be talked to directly. Everybody else isn’t deserving of being talked to directly, even himself. When it comes to orders, he likes being told to capture his targets instead of kill them. He believes that capturing them takes more skill since he has to hold himself back from killing them. It can be hard to restrain himself when in a fight. But in the end, he follows his orders exactly. If he were ordered to kill himself, he would. If he were ordered to not eat for a week, he would.
Every now and then, “What if...” thoughts surface in Koshka’s brain. Usually when just a single “What if…” thought comes to mind, it’ll occupy his head for the remaining of the day no matter how hard he tries to suppress it. No matter what he tries to replace the thoughts with, he can’t help but wonder what it would be like without orders. “Maybe it’d be nice to have a family…” “Maybe I could have a normal life as a human…” are just a few of the things he thinks of whenever he’s going through one of those days. At the same time though – he thinks such thoughts are disgusting. That’s what he tells himself anyways.

History »»
Koshka, or rather, “Kuroi Itsuna”, was born in 4391. The birth-name which he can no longer remember is “Kuroi Itsuna”. He was raised in a rather nice house with a loving family in Liba. He was just your average happy kid growing up. He went to the public school, had lots of friends, had crushes on girls, and everything else a normal child did. In 1440, when he was 10 years old, his parents started to stress out over a lot of things. His parents were essentially conspiracy theorists. Sometimes Kuroi would hear them talking about fake accidents which covered up the government stealing children. Of course they had no idea what for though. Over the next two years his parents got worse and worse. With their conspiracy theories came an extreme over-protectiveness. He wasn’t allowed to take public transportation with his friends to school anymore. He wasn’t allowed to play with his friends outside of the house unsupervised. He only had a fraction of the freedom that he had three years ago. Little did his parents know though that nothing they did would help.
One day, several days before his twelfth birthday, there was an explosion at his school. His classroom, Room 1309, was reported to suffer most of the damage from the explosion. It was “miraculous” that nobody else was hurt, reported the news; too bad that the roof caved in on Room 1309 right after the explosion. The explosion and roof caving in really did happen… but what really happened in-between the two events? Room 1309 was at the back of the school, facing the parking lot and on ground floor. There were also several large windows in the room. Nobody knew except the man in-charge of organizing classrooms that Room 1309 was a special room. A room filled with children who had been chosen for the experiments at Scarlet Rose Academy. It had been planned during the last summer break. Right after the precision explosion which was mainly just for show went off, several men on the outside of the school opened up the windows to Room 1309 and took the terrified children into several large hover-cars parked right outside.
The men who were in-charge of abducting the children had done so in frightening speed. The children’s bodies would be substituted with random dead bodies that had been crushed beyond recognition so nobody would be able to tell the difference between the children just by looking at them. Of course they were also able to fake the DNA that were in the bodies left behind too. They had every single thing planned out. The only person that really died that day was the teacher who “died in the explosion”. That day marked the end of Kuroi’s life, or rather, marked the beginning of it.
Immediately upon arriving at Scarlet Rose Academy, Kuroi and the rest of his class were taken to Level 1 and thrown into their own small cages. Over the next month, a child would be taken away each day and not return. Kuroi had completely forgotten about turning 12, he just wanted to go home. He kept thinking that his parents would come and find him or maybe he would be taken to his parents when he was taken like the rest of the children. He was barely kept alive each day. When there were only a handful of students left, he was taken to Level 2.
He was strapped down to a bed and a needle was injected in him. That’s the last thing he remembered before passing out. That was also when his mind became anything but sane. When he woke up he felt absolutely horrible. He writhed in agony as he could feel the inside of his body changing. He’d continuously pass out then wake up from the pain. The first three days of his stay in Level 2 played out like that. Come the 4th day, he’d have a needle injected in him several times per day to knock him out. He’d often wake up, not being able to feel anything, and then have another needle stuck into him. Apparently, his body didn’t want to sleep as much as the anesthetics wanted him to.
After several weeks of staying strapped down in that same bed in that pure white room, Kuroi had forgotten almost everything about himself. He only retained basic motor skills and speech. Whatever they were putting into his body was screwing his mind up beyond repair. If this continued for much longer than he would become another failed experiment to be destroyed. Nobody knows what happened the next time that he was asleep, but when he awoke, he had no memories of anything. He had forgotten how to speak, he didn’t know who he was, nothing. The only sound which escaped his lips was that of a low growling noise. His mind had officially broken, or so it seemed. When the scientists examined his brain – he was perfectly normal. It was as if his mind had simply “reset”. Everything was operating correctly though. Some processes of his brain were even working better than before.
Over the course of a year, Kuroi had taken on the name of “13 5”, which was his age and then another number for unknown reasons to himself. “13 5” had been taught the basics of English and math among other things. One of the only things he retained knowledge of was motor skills. It was rather… mixed up though. Most of the time he would try walking on two legs - other times he’d try walking using his arms too. He was born with the natural instincts of any feline. The scientists were able to “teach” him what was right and wrong for him though of course. After he had reached the mental age of a 7 year old, he was allowed to begin training.
The first mutations that his body had begun going through were his arms growing longer and getting a lot of black hair along with his ears raising up on his head and also becoming longer and hairier. He had no idea why, he was told this was normal. After all, he didn’t know any better. When it came to close-quarters training, he was better than the rest of Test Subjects that he competed with. Sometimes he’d forget what could happen to somebody after being punched so many times in the face so he was responsible for a fair share of the serious injuries. When it came to shooting practice with paint balls though; he lost a lot. As he grew older and his mutations became more severe… or “normal”… his arms and hands had become huge black monstrosities and his fingers had sunken into his hands - now paws - and large silver-ish claws took their place. His ears had also become very cat like.
When “13 5”, now “17 5”, was 17, one of the scientists had given him the name “Koshka”. He said that it meant cat in a different language. Koshka doesn’t know why, but at that time he started calling himself “Koshka 17”. He noticed that as he got older, the first number in his name would reflect his current age. He had decided to continue that tradition by adding his age after his new name. When he was 17, he only had the mental age of a 14 year old; a very boring, sociopathic 14 year old. Over the course of growing up in his new home, he eventually moved into Level 3. He continued being one of the best at close quarters combat and one of the worst, if not the worst, at ranged combat. He couldn’t hold a gun properly with his claws it wasn’t like they’d make him a special gun. Well, they actually did try that but it still didn’t help.
He also learned just from common sense that mostly everything he knows is a lie. He often overheard others talking about how bad of a place they were at was and how they wanted their “old lives” back and what-not. He could also tell just from looking at the other Test Subjects that this place wasn’t normal. After learning the meaning of “Test” and “Subject”, he finally had come to understand what they were. He was nothing more than an experiment that couldn’t remember its’ past. He just didn’t care. There was no point in caring. No matter how he looked at it, this place was his home. The scientists who turned him into this creature were his family. He’d do anything for his home and family.
When Koshka became “Koshka 20”, he had begun going on “missions” with Turics. Most of the time the missions were to bring in more children to become abominations such as himself, other times were to capture or kill rebels. They were always successful. He never really liked Turics though; they reminded him of dogs. He just naturally didn’t like anything like dogs. Eventually he was granted access to Level 4 which he found quite boring and pointless. Some of the other Test Subjects were jealous of him for being allowed to go to Level 4, he didn’t understand why. It was just watching a moving image on a screen, so fun. The year is now 4413 and Koshka is now “Koshka 22”. To him, he couldn’t ask for more. He was sent on missions, sometimes dangerous missions which were even more fun, he was taken care of for making his superiors happy which was a reward in its own, and he just couldn’t ask for more. He’s living his own little perfect life that he couldn’t care less about.
The only goals he had were to fulfill his superior’s wishes and that if he were to die, he would do so in combat. There was no better death for somebody raised to be a weapon. He continues to serve the Scarlet Rose without question. The biggest problem he has nowadays is what to do between orders…
