Ezekiel is, above all else, a man of science and learning. He speaks eloquently and levelly, and would never dream of resorting to physical violence. He's something of a philosopher, and constantly finds ways of justifying his work. He prefers to ignore those he dislikes, and dislikes almost anyone who isn't a scientist or academic. Though, to those he knows he is a kind hearted man, wholly devoted to his work and his daughter. He misses his wife dearly, and since her death has become more determined than ever to see Liba is safe. If he is contradicted or provoked, however, he does have a temper, and can be very impatient when dealing with the younger scientists in the facility.

History »»
Ezekiel Eisenberg is one of Liba's best scientists, and one of the Scarlet Rose's most successful. Born to a relatively wealthy family within the city itself, Ezekiel first trained as a doctor before moving on to his lifelong study of human/alt-human genetics. In fact, it was him and a colleague that first coined the term 'alt-human' to mean the monsters and strange beings that roamed the woods and the wilds of Liba.
Ezekiel had a good life. He married his college sweetheart and research partner, Ramona Richterfield. Together they had a daughter, Isabel, who was born a few years later. Ezekiel got his job teaching at Liba's top university, conducting his relatively low key research into the compatibility of human and alt-human DNA. It was this study that lead to his obsession with werewolves, and their ability to turn humans. The government got wind of his work and gave him a large grant to study the werewolves in a top secret project. For years Ezekiel and Ramona worked out in the wilds with the creatures, studying them, learning from them, recording them. They hoped to develop new medicines from the werewolf's ability to heal themselves, as well as their improved strength and metabolisms.
Then, it all went wrong. Ramona was killed by a werewolf during what should have been a routine expedition. Ezekiel was enraged and heartbroken. He abandoned the project and returned to the city with his daughter, hoping to leave his foolish dreams behind.
It was then that he was approached by the Government with a new proposal. War was coming, Liba needed a new kind of army, a new kind of weapon. His research into gene manipulation was of invaluable use to this end. Ezekiel agreed to become a founding member of the Scarlet Rose, for the good of his country, and the safety of his daughter.
He helped lead the team of scientists who conducted the first experiments. While the results showed promise, there was simply not enough test subjects. His superiors saw fit to correct this, by any means necessary. Ezekiel spends a lot of time thinking if he made the right choice in allowing the Scarlet Rose to start the forceful 'volunteering' of test subjects for the program.
But it didn't matter. Within a few months, the results spoke for themselves. The project grew and Ezekiel found himself at the forefront of the fight to protect Liba, or at least that's what he tells himself. He tries his best to be kind to the subjects, but his previous empathy for the werewolves has completely changed. He feels guilty sometimes for taking a certain pleasure in experimenting on them, but knows it must be done for the good of his people.
As one of the senior scientists on the project, Ezekiel spends most of his time in the Academy, but also retains a house in the city itself. His daughter, now grown up, has also joined the Scarlet Rose, and he worries for her safety daily. He hopes one day to pass on his knowledge, and to see his dream realised; for himself and Ramona. He thinks he is doing the right thing, and keeps hoping someone will prove him right...
