It was a chilly morning on Americana beach - the heavy mist that covered the golden shores was dense enough to limit the average human's eyesight to only 25% of what it should be. Mists that were this heavy were quite rare, but they still happened every now and then nonetheless. What was even more rare was the long trail of footprints near the edge of the water this early in the morning. Who would walk at the edge of the water at 7 in the morning while it's chilly and last but not least - in this heavy mist. The small waves that were continuously washing back and forth over the beach weren't being very effective at covering the footprints either. In the mist walking along the shore was a tall figure wearing what looked like a long white and red robe. Behind the robe was very long white hair which almost reached down to the figure's knees. Anybody who were to see this sight would surely think that they had just witnessed a ghost taking a walk on the beach.
The figure had walked down the beach for quite awhile now. It was walking down a straight path for at least an hour by now. The mist had begun to lift up from the beach and the visibility of anybody caught in it was slowly restoring to normal. The waves had begun to become slightly larger and go more into the beach before heading back out to ocean. Despite the fact that the waves were rolling onto the beach and were a foot high when they'd hit the figure didn't seem to disturb it at all. The visibility was now good enough to also be able to see the long sheath-looking object hanging from his waist. The bottom of it was also engulfed by the waves as they'd roll in.
Almost exactly every 5 minutes, the figure would turn it's head to look around to make sure that nobody or nothing was following it. The beach was dead-silent though. Nothing moved on the shores except the ghostly figure which looked less and less apparitional as the mist lifted. It had been almost two hours now since the figure began it's slow walk on the beach; it had finally reached it's destination. The ghostly apparition known as the Fenrir "Fen-Dweller", the Hróðvitnir "Fame-Wolf", the Vánagandr "Monster of the River Ván", or Fenrisúlfr "Fenris Wolf" had finally reached the Aqualuna Cave. Of course though, none of those names were what the figure went by. Vánagandr was actually the figure's favorite name that was given to it - but Fenrir was it's real name... or rather, main name.
Fenrir walked into the Aqualuna Cave with the bottom of his robe, katana sheath, and sandals all dripping with water from the ocean waves. It had been a long time since he had come here. The last time he visited this cave was around 2600 years ago and that was just before he left the Americas due to all the colonization that was going on. It hadn't changed much except that it was a little bit wider now and there were less crystals... probably because of the greedy humans that find interest in shiny things. He spotted several lingering souls, or "ghosts" as humans called them, hanging about the cave. Most of them were crying or yelling in anger. Sure, he could just devour these souls to shut them up but he never had much interest in doing so. He had also gotten used to annoying souls - after all, he had to deal with humans which were even more annoying.
Despite being almost 4000 years old, he wasn't very good at coming up with plan. Now that he'd finally return to the Americas he had no idea where to go. He figured that this would be one of the only places left mostly untouched by the humans so he had come here. He had spotted a city behind the golden beach. It looked to be in rather well shape too so it more-than-likely wasn't abandoned like a lot of the other human cities he had come across. There were signs of a forest behind the city that he could go into... but it would be hard getting past the humans in his current attire. He already had to slaughter a boat-full of humans on his way here.
Fenrir had just arrived to the Americas from being a stow-away on a fishing boat which had left from where used to be Morocco. He had threatened the "captain" of the vessel to take him to the Americas. The captain and his crew had hastily listened to Fenrir after he cut off one of the crewman's hands for touching his katana's sheath. When the vessel was finally near the shore, the crew had decided to try and attack Fenrir for some odd reason. He had no further use of them so he swiftly decapitated them all then left only the bodies in the boat. The boat had eventually washed up onto shore with the headless bodies of several men in it and bloody footprints heading into the edge of the water. Unfortunately something like that would probably make it onto what the humans call, the "News".
Fenrir had gotten pretty deep into the cave to the point where it was pitch black. He then proceeded to unsheath his sword in his right hand and took a very disfigured-looking stick out of his left sleeve. He used the unnamed power of his to make the edge of his sword vibrate at extreme speeds and it struck it down against the stone floor multiple times - launching sparks from the stone each time it was struck. He knelt down next to the stone which was now extremely hot just from being struck by the vibrating blade multiple times and he then held the stick right next to the rock and swung his blade. The sparks from the rock were enough to ignite the tip of the stick on fire which then let off a very dim light that didn't allow for more than 3 feet of vision, but it was good enough.
He noticed several other random sticks laying around in the cave - probably pieces of driftwood from the ocean. He gathered them in a small pile before the flame on the stick had exhausted and then stuck the flaming stick into the pile of wood. It didn't work too well though since most of the wood was damp from the ocean cave. The pile of wood had eventually caught on fire though and slowly spread. There was now a rather decent fire burning which let him see well within 15 feet of the fire. The crystals that lined the cave were a lot more dense in this spot - probably because nobody ever wanted to come to the dark parts of the cave. The flames danced in the reflection of the crystals. Hopefully the flame wasn't bright enough to be seen from the lit part of the caves. If it was visible from where people usually went to then they might get curious - hopefully scared off though.
Fenrir sat down against the wall and closed his eyes to take a short nap. He hadn't slept in at least a week. Of course, to him a "short nap" would end up being a 2-3 weeks slumber in this case. He was good at managing how long he slept though. He wouldn't be sleeping for more than two hours. He had to find a safer place first. He could probably just follow some lonely human home then kill them and stay in their residence... but that didn't work so well the last time he tried it. He could also try to get into that forest behind the city, but he had no idea what living in there. He kept his main katana unsheathed and ready in his right hand in-case anybody were to disturb his short nap. Anything even slightly louder than the crackle of the fire in-front of him would wake him up in an instant. It would be a shame if it just happened to be a human that stumbled across him.

when the devil wants to dance with you ,YOU BETTER SAY NEVER because a dance with the devil might last you forever - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Crimson eyes opened, about half a mile away from the beach. The scent of something new lingered in the air, and the crimson eyes seemed to shine through out the mist. Soft foot steps walked towards the scent- a scent that made her heart beat speed up, and she felt as if it was a black hole; something that she had to see, but at the same time it could have been dangerous. Strands of black hair seemed to dance against the wind, that took her scent forward and with the wind.
She walked slowly, her kimono dragging along with her, the scent of the sea and sand lingered with the interesting scent, so she knew where to go. Her pale skin seemed to glow against the mist, and her red orbs seemed to shine brightly even in the mist, this had been a fox demon- Kijo, she reigned in the era were the blade was the most powerful weapon, and the most loyal friend, her hair had been long, it would almost drag against the ground if she hadn’t had it pulled back, she walked slowly but each step commanded showed that the woman was one of pride and was not afraid to show it.
The woman wasn’t dressed for this time, and she seemed to be proud of the fact she wasn’t- she refused to change, she had been dressed in a priestess’ kimono-ironically because’s she’s a demon. A red gobi gripped her tightly around the waist, it went over a red and black kimono, that was more then form fitting, at the sides of the gobi two shealthed rusted katana’s lay dormant until she would call upon their use. Accents of gold had been thrown into her outfit, but that was who this woman was, Kijo a demoness not fit for this era- yet she seemed to blend in perfectly- she was a demoness of illusion.
She stopped when her feet left gravel and met with sand, and this was where the scent was the strongest, her nose twitched and she stopped the mist seemed to slowly clear, and she could see the beautiful waves that hit against the sand. She stopped, and her eyes seemed to reflect the ocean, and her mind seemed to be else where as she stared to it, before suddenly turning her head and looking off to the distance, her eyes ran over it and she could see a cave, which seemed to be where the scent would be the strongest.
She could almost taste the sea salt in the air, she looked to the ground as she walked next to the sea side, the scent of copper hit the air also, her eyes narrowed; human blood. Her foot steps hurried, as she walked towards the cave; soon realizing that the massacre had happened long ago, before the scent of the new demon even touched her scents; she stood at the opening of the cave and seemed to pause, her hand resting on her blades, as she walked forward.
She walked until darkness devoured her, and she couldn’t even see her hands in front of her and just as it got darker, she noticed crystals glowing brightly, reflecting the lights from a flame. She paused, and admired the crystal’s glowing beauty, before walking deeper into the cave, until she found the source of the scent and stared to him; well now.. she felt like a creeper. She cleared her throat in hopes to gain his attention.

Fenrir had been sleeping soundly for almost an hour when he awoke to the sound of faint footsteps approaching him. Was it a human? No... they didn't smell like filth. Werewolf? Not that either - there was no musky scent of a dog. He had heard of vampires before but he had never met one so he didn't know their smell yet... That didn't matter though - this was a smell that he knew. The smell of a demon. He never knew quite how to describe the smell of fellow demons, but apparently to the humans they used "sweet" to describe the smell. That's humans who have actually met demons anyways. Most humans still thought that demons were red things with tails and horns that come from "Hell"... last time he checked anyways.
He could relax if it was a demon who had decided to find him. The last time a demon actually attacked him was over 2000 years ago when he killed the human wife of a demon. It was preposterous that a demon had undergone the human ritual of "marriage" and planned on living with something so disgusting for the rest of the human's life. The demon that he killed was apparently in love with the human. What he did was spare his fellow demon of the thoughts of being together with a human... the demon didn't take it so well though. He attacked Fenrir but had already been heavily injured to the point of not being able to move just from Fenrir's counter-attack. It was a weak demon - all he did was cut off the demon's right leg. He wouldn't kill another demon though, he decided to just leave the demon where it was and if it lived, it lived. If it died, it died.
Despite his best efforts of creating as many children as possible, the demon race was still not growing in population. Because of this, he doubted that the demon en-route to him would have hostile intentions. That's assuming that the demon wasn't a traitor to their race, anyways. With his eyes closed and back in his sleeping position he smelled the scent once more and came to the conclusion that it was a female demon. He peeked his eyes open again to check the surrounding area... unfortunately this was no place to become a father to another child. Or rather, he doubted any lady would find this place suiting to perform such a deed.
Fenrir didn't exactly practice safety around other demons. Just from the scent of a demon his guard was completely down. He could easily be killed by the demon that was approaching him if she so wishes so. Assuming that she attacks before he opens his eyes... As the footsteps and scent got closer his interest had risen slightly. This smell was better than most of the other female demons that he had encountered. He assumed that that meant the demon would also be more attractive than the others too. None of that mattered though for as long as she was willing to have children. He would surely be mistaken as a pervert to anybody who didn't understand his "mission" of increasing the population of demons.
The scent had finally gotten within 15 feet of him. Then there was the noise of somebody clearing their throats. That was something he observed humans to often do when seeking the attention of somebody. He opened his right eye slightly to take a quick glance at the demon that had appeared before him and he was right that she was more attractive than a lot of the others. His eye closed again after a second or two. He wasn't trying to be rude, he was just really tired still. "So what reason do you have to come to the back of this cave? Was it the smell of dead humans lingering in the air or the smell of a demon? Either way, the demon Fenrir greets you." he spoke up to her in a confident yet somewhat drowsy-sounding voice. The only time he ever spoke in 3rd person like that was when meeting another demon for the first time.

when the devil wants to dance with you ,YOU BETTER SAY NEVER because a dance with the devil might last you forever - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - She stayed by the glowing crystals until her presence was noticed, she saw his eyes open slowly, and not fully before closing and he began speaking. ”Mere, curiosity has brought me to your slumber“ her voice was soft and melodious, and some would assume that she could sooth the rage of the most intolerant beast. She stood there, her dark hair falling in front of her face, as she leaned against the crystal her crimson orbs seemed to glow with the ambers of the the fire below her, almost an enchanting look to them.
”I am Kijo, a fox demon.” she spoke with a respectful bow of her head, her hands still seemed to linger over her blades, even though she sensed no hostility from this one. She straightened her back as if to appear taller then she actually was, and stared to him. ”So you are the one.. that massacred those humans, a rather annoying scent I find it.” she spoke quietly, yet at the same time her voice demanded that those who fell to her words to pay attention, how a sound that was so demanding sounded soft and lovely could be a question that many seemed to ask.
She took a step near the fire, and stared down to it. ”You are either a powerful demon.. or a foolish one“ she spoke quietly, for his guard to be completely down. She feared he was a powerful one. She looked down, ”It will be fair to warn you.. if you are powerful.. “ she laughed at what she was saying next; it was still so incredulous to her... simply.. incredulous. ”Humans have been capturing our kind“ she spoke, as she stared down to the flames, before glancing up to the man, who claimed to be Fenrir, who seemed rather relaxed.
She would have put a stop to this.. injustice.. it wasn’t natural.. that all that bothered her. There was a time where demons had been revered as gods, then they slowly became monsters. She gripped the hilts of her blades, and that was when she fell into her slumber, she moved her bangs out of her eyes. Then she awoke to this hell of a planet. She scoffed at the thought, nothing would capture her; she’d rather die on her feet then live on her knees, especially to some evolved monkeys.
She looked to him, looking for any different facial expressions, shock, or maybe did he already know this? She still felt obligated to warn him, a fellow demon like that shouldn’t fall in the hands of the cabbot woman. She stared to him, before looking back to the fire.

”Mere, curiosity has brought me to your slumber“ "Slumber? This is but a slight resting stop. Having to keep my eyes on those humans constantly for two weeks was quite tiresome." Fenrir replied to her, returning that soft tone of hers. He open his right eye fully this time but kept the left shut. He turned his head to face the woman speaking before him who then introduced herself with a bow of the head. ”I am Kijo, a fox demon.” ”So you are the one.. that massacred those humans, a rather annoying scent I find it.” Her voice was that of a beautiful woman calmly disciplining her children - that's how he heard it anyways. A thought crossed his mind on how that would make her a good mother for demons. "Ah, a demon that still knows how to be respectful. I don't meet many demons such as yourself these days. It would appear that even I'm forgetting my manners." he spoke in the same tired-sounding tone as from when he introduced himself. He stood up and then slightly bowed down to her. When he had finished his bow he looked her over again and realized that she seemed a lot taller when he was on the floor; he was almost a foot taller than her.
"Sorry about that scent. I understand that humans smell worse enough when they're alive. I'm used to the smell of dead humans, however. It no longer bothers me. And despite the legends, I'm not really a wolf. Just a dog. "Loki" isn't really my father either. I'm surprised by how many people think those stories are real just because they find out that i'm real." he talked to her while looking over her body again. It had been almost 30 years since he was last with another female demon. This one was also easily the most attractive one he had met in at least 300 years.
”You are either a powerful demon.. or a foolish one“”It will be fair to warn you.. if you are powerful.. "”Humans have been capturing our kind“
Fenrir almost let out a laugh as she finished speaking. Humans capturing demons? That was just ridiculous. Sure, humans sometimes hunted demons back when people still believed in them but not once over his almost 4000 years of life has he heard of humans actually capturing live demons. Yet... she didn't appear to be lying. She also didn't quite seem to believe it herself. So were humans really capturing demons? "Ah... So then humans are now trying to capture us instead of just hunt us down to extinction? What reasons would they have to do so? The humans are stupid beings but I can't fathom what ideas are polluting their minds to the point of causing them to capture our fellow demons." he said in an unchanging expression. He didn't quite believe what she said about humans capturing demons. He believed that she believed it though. Perhaps she heard it from some other demon that she had reason to trust.
Unfortunately for him, it seemed as if the lady standing in his presence wasn't interested in having children. She seemed like the kind of demon that just sticks to itself and only gets help when absolutely necessary. He'd still try persuading her though - just not yet. If what she spoke about humans doing was true... then a lot more of the scent that she finds to be annoying would fill the air. Especially depending on what they were doing to the demons. If it was anything even almost as bad as torture then he wouldn't care who in the world knew that he could turn into a massive dog capable of killing hundreds of humans in mere minutes.

His tone met the softness of her voice, and it almost gave the whole area a peaceful feel to it; almost something one would read in a bad manga- the fire crackling, the lights of the flame bouncing off the crystals and illuminating the normally frighteningly dark cave. She paused as she listened to him.
”I am rather old, nothing like these new demons of this era.” she laughed almost as if she was laughing at herself, a soft short chuckle, as she glanced to her rather traditional clothing. She moved her hands from the hilt of her blade, and she noticed how much taller then man was, she’d prefer it if he was sitting down..now... but she wouldn’t have spoke the comment, nor it would show on the surface, her face keeping that almost calm demeanor to it. A mask, she shook her head. ”All is well, I have blood on my hands and the scent will always linger.“ she spoke as she turned her head to the entrance of the cave. Of course she could sense his eyes lingering on her, and her head snapped back to him.
”Yes, as incredulous as it is, I’ve been told by many demons of this era about it. she spoke as she leaned against the wall and closed her eyes letting out a sigh, and rested her arm against a crystal that was besides her, and her bangs seemed to fall in front of her face. ”I didn’t believe it.. but I kept my guard up for a long while..” she spoke quietly, her crimson eyes opening they had been narrowed to the dog demon. ”Then I met.. what I believe is a product of the humans who capture demons... I met this fellow.” she spoke her memory going back to Miki, the humanoid who simply didn’t want to be alone, his eyes constantly shifting colors.
”He smelled like.. a hanyou... half demon.. the product of a human and demon..” she spoke before snorting, she didn’t care if a human and a demon courted, had children and repeated she could careless as long as it didn’t get in her way. ”But his scent wasn’t like one, it was so familiar yet so alien at the same time..” she spoke quietly. She shook her head and looked up to him, and rested her hands on her hips- above the hilts of her blades.
”You don‘t have to believe me, all I ask of you is that you keep your guard up“

”I am rather old, nothing like these new demons of this era.”
Fenrir watched her as she took a quick glance at her own clothing. That was when he realized that she too was wearing a kimono. What were the chances of two demons both wearing old kimonos meeting in a small cave in the Americas? It was either fate, extreme coincidence, or there were a lot more demons who traveled to Japan and acquired kimonos than he thought. He was the type of person demon to believe in fate over coincidence though.
”He smelled like.. a hanyou... half demon.. the product of a human and demon..”
What? A demon and human mix? That's not even possible... He had sometimes heard stories of other hybrids but he never once actually met a half-human half-demon. Even when he "investigated" a couple of them - they never turned out to be real. Maybe it was extremely rare for a half-human half-demon child to be born... but in this case the humans are creating them?
”But his scent wasn’t like one, it was so familiar yet so alien at the same time..”
She didn't show the slightest signs of lying... She is a fox demon though. They're the biggest tricksters of the demons. If she was lying then it would be hard to tell no matter what. She did have this feel of honor and trustworthiness to her though... He didn't believe that she would lie to him. Maybe it was the kimono, the fact that he hadn't been with another woman in about 30 years, or just the fact that she didn't kill him when she could have done so easily. Either way, he believed her.
”You don‘t have to believe me, all I ask of you is that you keep your guard up“
With an unchanging expression and tone, he replied "I believe you. So these days the filth is capturing our fellow demons and somehow creating half-human half-demon beings..." He had no idea what to think about that. Part of him wants to help the demons and maybe even steal and use for himself whatever it is that the humans are using to make the hybrids. The other part of him wanted to completely burn down several cities and burn every single hybrid and human involved in a fire until nothing but dust remains. Knowing him, the second option was most likely what he would do. After thinking about it in silence for several moments he came to the conclusion that these weren't true demons. There would be no point in turning a demon into a half-human... but there would be great gain for the humans if they could turn a human into a half-demon. What that thinking - the hybrids probably were born full humans and then somehow changed. The thought of whether or not one of these hybrids could mate with a full demon to produce a child occured in his mind. It would be a great thing if they could... but... no. Having human blood run throughout the future generations of demons is unspeakable.
"You could say that these hybrids are almost a blessing to our race. Especially if they can bear children with proper demons. I won't kill them... I'll even help them if I so get the chance. However, I could never allow one of them to become a parent." his expression had changed to a much more serious and cold tone "If I ever find the child of one of these hybrids, or find out that a woman is bearing the child to one of them... I would have to strike down the child or mother bearing the child." he was serious. If it came down to it, he wouldn't even flinch when it was time to strike down a pure-demon mother bearing a child with human blood. "Even if it was one of my own daughters bearing the child, I won't allow human blood to taint the future generations of demons."
When he was done speaking he looked over to the fire and noticed that it began to die out. He had originally planned on leaving this place by the time the fire died... but he might as well keep it going for a bit longer. He knelt over to pick up some driftwood to throw into the fire and as he did so he realized that his eyes had been stuck on her legs. When he was done throwing the wood into the fire - he walked back over to where he initially was when she had first met him and he sat back down against the wall. "I wouldn't mind it at all if you were to take a seat and tell me more about the current affairs of this world. Despite being alive and awake for almost four-thousand years... I never have been very good at keeping "up to date" on human affairs. Who knows, I might even know something that you'd be interested in learning about." His tone had returned to that of softness from earlier, but even so his tone sounded as if he were ordering her to take a seat despite really just inviting her to.

when the devil wants to dance with you ,YOU BETTER SAY NEVER because a dance with the devil might last you forever - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - She watched his expressions suddenly change, into a more serious almost more to perhaps a human or a lower class demon a more frightening tone; that is if Kijo had been a human or a lower classed demon. She stared to him, with blank red eyes- almost as if she had been bored with his sudden change into rage. ”I don’t care for mix breeding, all I care about is if it will affect me, or fellow demons. she spoke leaning off the wall, she looked around, this place was boring. Her eyes suddenly shimmered bright red, and then she slowly closed her eyes, her head bowing low.
something that deceives by producing a false or misleading impression of reality.
The cave was suddenly brighter, and a lot warmer, grass had been below him instead of the hard cave floor, the soft sound of birds tweeting had hit the air, and the cave had been gone- now the a warm summers breeze hit the two and she walked over to him, instead of a cave wall he had been leaning against a wooden chair that had seemed aged, and devoured by termites, yet it supported her weight as she sat next to him, staring off, her eyes seemed to shine more then they normally would- but that was only because this was what Kijo wanted.
Illusion
Her chin rested in her palm as she leaned over, her hair seemed to cover most of her face, acting as a dark curtain hiding her face from his eyes, her blades would be more noticeable- two katana’s that seem to lay dormant at her sides. She seemed to stare off to a hill that had seemed far from the two, the area was rather empty, besides the grass below them, the great blue sky above them and that chair that seemed to have fit four people at a time. She glanced to him, ” Do not worry, if I would have wanted to attack you, I wouldn’t have waited this long, nor would I have even cared to warn you about the humans...” she spoke in a bored tone, as she turned to him. ”I am old, but you are older then I..” she spoke witha nod of her head.
With age comes experiance, and she stared off.She hadn’t gotten into a fight lately- but she would not pick one with this demon. She leaned forward her elbows on her knees. She could feel the demon inside her- her true monster it was caged, it demanded blood- human, demon or hybrid.. blood is what it wanted. She rested her chin back on her palms before staring off to the illusion. Perhaps she could find guidance from this demon? He seemed sane enough.. so far.”Do you believe in souls?” the question would be random, but it was a question that she had to ask. Often when she was alone, she would think about miniscule objects-at least that’s what she told herself the thoughts had been.
Did demons go to hell when they died, even if they were as pure as a priestess? ”I come from the fuedal era..” she spoke and her eyes seemed to fixate on the hill again. ”I woke up not too long ago, so what I’ve told you is what I know..” she spoke with a sigh. How she hated being ignorant in certain situations, her arms crossed and she straightened her shoulders, trying to make herself seem taller then what she was- five five and a half....

”I don’t care for mix breeding, all I care about is if it will affect me, or fellow demons."
Fenrir wasn't surprised by that statement. After all, most demons have felt that way for thousands of years. As long as it doesn't interfere with what they're doing, they just don't care. He still believes that's it's disgusting and pathetic to be spending time with somebody who would normally die before even becoming 100. Then all of a sudden the whole cave had changed into a giant grassy meadow. He was no longer sitting on the jagged floor of the cave nor leaning against the rough rocky wall; he was now sitting on soft lush green grass with his back against a worn-down wooden chair. He felt the chair brush against his back as the woman had sat down in it and turned his head to the side and looked at her. He noticed some birds flying in the light blue sky behind her as the breeze had hit them
"This is quite the serene illusion." he spoke to her as he turned his head back to facing forward and looked up at the sky - he just stared up at the clear sky in slight-awe. It had been a very long time since he's seen the sky look so peaceful. If there were a couple of mountains in the distance and a nice forest somewhere then this illusion would have been perfect enough to make him want to stay forever. He looked back at the lady in the chair next to him to say something but when he noticed that her eyes were now shining more than before he had forgotten what he was going to say.
The chair was quite large - there was enough room for two more adults or several kids. He wondered whether it could even be considered a chair... it was more of a bench how he saw it.
”Do you believe in souls?”
He thought that was a rather strange question to ask for being a demon seeing as how demons can see and eat the souls of the departed. Maybe she meant Heaven and Hell? "Souls, yes. The places that is it preached about where they go - yes... but differently." he answered her with a somewhat confusing sentence. After he thought about what he had just said - he'd had confused himself when he thought about how he phrased it. "How I see it is... I believe in Heaven and Hell, just differently from how it's preached. They always say Hell is full of demons and how demons come from Hell, yet we were born here on this planet with normal parents. I do believe though that Hell is where were originally from. Now whether it's a fiery lake of boiling magma or just a completely different dimension... I'm not sure. I don't think it's where all the "bad" or "evil" people go to though. Or maybe they do go there... but just to a different part of there. And if we demons exist, what about angels and other heavenly beings? I think of Heaven, Hell, and Earth as just continents. For example... Hell is the Americas and Heaven is Africa. You find completely different animals and other life in each continent but it doesn't mean that one continent is evil and one is pure. Then I think that all the souls we see here lingering around are just the ones that are too afraid to move on... or maybe that's where all the "bad" ones go. They just stay here - never able to move on."
After talking for a good bit without giving the lady next to him a chance to reply - he decided to stop at that and just stared in her direction but not at her. He was looking at the birds flying in the sky behind her, watching the tall grass sway as the wind blew over it, and occasionally just stared at her eyes.
”I come from the feudal era..””I woke up not too long ago, so what I’ve told you is what I know..”
That means she would have been sleeping for over 3000 years if his on-the-spot math had been right. That was the extent of his mathematical abilities. He only knew how to add and subtract - there was never any need to learn useless human traditions. "I don't know if your lucky or unfortunate that you missed what's happened during your slumber. The feudal era was around the 13th century right? Who knows, maybe if you stayed awake for another 600 or so years we would have met in Japan. I do know one thing though - your lucky you weren't awake for the 16th and 20th centuries. Apparently, lots of demons had begun getting killed in Japan in the 16th and then in the 20th was the 2nd World War." he let out a sigh when he finished talking. Bringing up the 20th century reminded him of when the nukes were dropped. He could remember it perfectly. He could even show her his memory of it happening... but there was no reason to disrupt such a peaceful illusion such as the one they're in with one of the worst days in history.

when the devil wants to dance with you ,YOU BETTER SAY NEVER because a dance with the devil might last you forever - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - She sat there, and she resembled more of a statue, a woman sitting in the wind- no more of a painting of two demons finally at peace. She listened to him quietly, she had always respected her elders, she stared off to the sky, before looking to him and and shaking her head. ”No.” she spoke, her voice was suddenly like a cold lake, demanding attention- no one could even ignore it, ignoring- ignoring it would be like drowning in the cold depths of that lake. She paused, and looked down. ”We would have fought.. if you met me in the fuedal era, and you would have slain me.” she spoke, sharp bitterness that could peirce the strongest of metals had been where her voice had been.
She bit on her lower lip, something she did when she was nervous. She let out a calming sigh, as the illusion seemed to keep up it’s charade despite her snap. She breathed in slowly before standing up. ”Perhaps I should leave.” she spoke suddenly staring to where the entrance of the cave suddenly appeared, it looked all too magical- this lovely serene meadow, and then a dark entrance- if this was a painting one would suggest the down fall of Adam from Eden. She paused and her eyes stayed on the entrance- as if almost hesitant to leaving.
She turned to the male demon- Fenrir. She stared to him blankly. ”I can keep the Illusion up, if you would so wish it.. the fire had died down to only ambers..” she spoke with a dull whisper,as her fingers ran along side of her hilt. She could feel her demon,it wanted out, it wanted pain, death and it wanted chaos. She wasn’t going to risk it, but she would find where her demon brothern lay, and cause chaos to wherever she stepped, Her mask was in play and she was one of the most clever demoness she knew- so clever that at times she could trick herself- in thinking that she was a peaceful woman? No, she was a monster, her muscles tensed.
monster..
The memory of her past sprung up on her like a trap at the words, her crimson eyes fell to her hands and blood stained on them, the illusion had sprung forward into something a bit more Hellish, fire and smoke had been in the night sky, and fire had devoured at the meadow in front of him, a village was now in the meadow and it had been a demon village, but the smell of copper demon blood had been in the air, children crying, demons roaring- a clash of blades could be heard.
They would see what would seem to be Kijo, her hair had been loose and her robes had been the same, but blood stained them, and her hands had been drenched in blood, demons behind her and in front of her, her hair covered her face but through the darkness her eyes shined a bright red, blood lust. The scene suddenly snapped back to the meadow. ”Gomenasai I mean.. forgive me.” she spoke suddenly. ”That’s never happened before..” she spoke her eyes wide in shock at the sudden change of scenary so quickly, it all felt like more of a flash.
It was the first time her memories had unwillingly forced it’s way out of her mind and to her illusions.
Monster..

”We would have fought.. if you met me in the feudal era, and you would have slain me.”
Fenrir didn't quite understand what she meant when she said that so he just replied with a casual-sounding "Only if you would have attacked me first." He heard her let out a sigh and then noticed her stand up. Before he could ask if she was leaving she mentioned leaving herself.
”I can keep the Illusion up, if you would so wish it.. the fire had died down to only ambers..”
To Fenrir, once he saw her eyes when she said that it was obvious to him that something was wrong. After having around 100 "wives" he's learned how to tell when a woman is hiding something. Once more, before he could speak there was a sudden interruption. This time it was something he was quite used to seeing - death and destruction. At first he wasn't bothered in the slightest. A burning village full of humans, who cares? Then he noticed that they weren't humans... they were demons. Now that... that bothered him. From what he could make of it... she was the one butchering the demons all around her. And that look in her eyes was just...
"Gomenasai I mean.. forgive me.””That’s never happened before..”
"So, that's what you meant when you said I would have slain you... I won't lie to you - I'm tempted to do so right now, maybe I should? What use would that be though? What's the point of just killing yet another demon when were still dying out? Right now... I'm supposing that you could really use a "punching bag". That's something the humans hit a lot to train or take out stress. If you really need a punching bag - then I'm right here." he had quite a few... abusive "wives" over the years. After all, they were demons. Plus this wasn't even really of a big deal to him... not the punching bag part anyways. He'd been doing stuff like this his whole life. It was increasing his resistance to pain. If anything it could be seen as a selfish gesture... he really did want to help her though. Even though his thoughts of her had drastically changed... she was still a demon. One almost as old as him at that. He couldn't just kill her or let herself go and get killed. It's also not like she was the first demon he's met that killed other demons. This probably wouldn't have even bothered him had it happened before the nuclear bomb dropping in WW2.
He would definitely stop her though should she inflict too much damage upon him. He stood up and stepped closer to her until he was within her punching range. He looked down at her and said "Don't suppress yourself, be selfish." Of course he had no idea that she was trying to mask her demonic desires. It just looked like she needed to let something out. "If I'm not good enough, then how about we go kill some humans? It's not like killing a couple hundred of them would put a dent in their population."
He slightly opened up his kimono, revealing the center of his chest. On his chest were dozens of scars. Most of them were tiny, some went across his whole chest. Nobody can live for almost 4000 years without getting scars. He relaxed his posture and stared at the demon in-front of him - staring into her eyes waiting to be hit.

when the devil wants to dance with you ,YOU BETTER SAY NEVER because a dance with the devil might last you forever - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - She paused as she watched him. It would have been the right thing to do, her eyes would lock with his own, and she would take a step back, her hands instantly going to her blades as she stared to him. Suicide wasn’t an option to her- and suicide to her was just sitting there and letting herself go down without a fight. The demoness in her would chuckle at this, it would want the man to take a step forward and draw his weapon to her neck, and the fight would begin. But didn’t because a race that never should have existed was dying out. She scoffed, and her eyes didn’t leave his.
Her crimson eyes seemed to be filled with confusion, as he stepped closer to her, her muscles tensed, and he could see it that she was ready for a fight even though he had claimed that he wouldn’t. Could he blame her though..for not trusting his words? They were demons after all, both of them that is. Each muscle tensed and could be seen through her skin, her body went in an offensive stance, before she paused. Punching bag? He explained it, and her body instantly fell back to normal, her hands however stayed on her hilt.
Her eyes narrowed as he showed off his chest and began to speak, her hands reached over on his chest if he would allow it and she ran her fingers over the scars, her eyes glanced down and she grabbed each sides of his kimono suddenly and covered his chest with his shirt, before staring into his eyes. ”I see no need to harm you.” she spoke shaking her head. ”But I will.. show you.” she spoke and darkness seemed to devour the room and soon the only thing he could see was her two ruby red orbs, she closed her eyes and soon only darkness.
It had been dark, it was the type of darkness that crept down ones throat and felt as if it’s main goal was asphyxiation. Then light seemed to slowly fade in, as if droplets of light hit against the darkness as if a drop of rain against the waters of a calm pond, and soon he had been in woods, the scent of blood in the air, a young demoness stood there, her hair to her shoulders and crimson eyes stared to the corpses of men, a sick grin serrating her face, as a human crawled to her, his eyes wide with pain. Something to say? the girl giggled. I’m more.. then just.. a little curious blood spat out of his mouth, and she giggled some more bending over placing her ear by his mouth. Oh..? she seemed to purr. How you plan.. on making your amends.. to the dead.. the man coughed and his cough was cut short- by her blade.
Another illusion, the one from before. Kijo had been sitting in a tree, and two demon children had been playing happily, loudly. The crimson eyes opened and she glared to the children- they had disturbed her sleep. The illusion flickered, fire had devoured the village, and Kijo had cuts on her, gashes, her blood mixed with other demons, they had all been dead, she walked through the village and killing those who had thought they could hide, she had no regretes, her eyes had been glowing a bright red, and she seemed more alive then she had so far in her illusions- her memories.. at least the ones she could remember.
Then the illusion seemed to fade to night, another place and another time, he was cold. Snow fell, and hit him, before fading into nothingness. He saw Kijo, she had been next to a man with a distorted face but through the distortion a cruel smirk showed through on his face, she seemed well for lack of words to describe she was just happy, she seemed well she looked as if she was now. "Kanaeasis, tell me why do you hate demons?" “They are souless, but don’t worry my dear; humans have no soul either..” “Then you hate humans too..?” ”Of course..” the Kijo seemed to be rather saddened suddenly staring to the ground“Then.. what do you like? Don’t you get lonely hating everything?” the man gripped her chin. ”I love you.”
Suddenly there was fire, and the snow seemed to wilt away as if a dying flower, it had been Kijo she had blood over her mouth, hands and her kimono stuck tightly to her in blood, her eyes shined brightly as she stared to the man. ”Kanaeasis, Why have you done this?” pain filled her words, and the man gave a smirk. “I thought you-” “What?! You thought I loved, a pathetic demon like yourself?” his voice snickered and the demon seemed to fade, suddenly an army came down upon the woman, the demon who slayed demons and humans alike with out a second thought.
To him it would seem as if the battle was hours long, she had been putting up a good fight but exhaustion would set it’s way in, and as she waited for the next wave she devoured the soldiers, women and men, demons and humans she had been a nuisance, arrows came down upon her and the demoness glared before changing into a great beast, that would be fox like but had a skull on it’s head, golden piercing connected the skull to the skin and the crimson eyes seemed to shine through out the darkness of the skull, golden peircings ran upon the demoness’ spine with crimson feathers that decorated her bodice. She attacked taking arrows to the back.
The illusion faded to the beast- the demoness, Kijo running quickly from the final wave, bloodied up the creature ran before she crawled deep into a cave, humanoid now the girl, the bloodied and defeated Kijo had crawled, before laying her head on her arms and slumbering.
Suddenly he was back at the cave and Kijo opened her eyes, feeling exhausted from exerting so much of her energy into the illusion. She leaned against the wall of the cave her eyes closed. ”I will not kill unless I need too...now that is.” she spoke as her hair fell in front of her face as she kept her hands on her hilt.

Fenrir wasn't surprised when he saw the demon take up an offensive stance as he got closer. Maybe she would have felt more at ease if he had disarmed himself first... but he didn't want to risk her getting to serious and being unarmed. Of course he'd risk keeping his eyes closed when he first met her though. When he was done explaining what a punching bag was she had returned to a normal stance... maybe he should have just gotten into a fight with her and let her rough him up a bit. Then the problem of his life actually being in danger would be possible again. Plus it may be hard convincing her that he planned on losing. He figured this was for the best now and let her cover up his chest with the kimono. Next time he was at a mirror he'd count the scars on his body - the last time he counted was sometime in the early 3100's and he had 70-some scars over his whole body.
”I see no need to harm you.””But I will.. show you.”
With those words, the illusion changed once more. Except this time it wasn't an illusion... it was a memory. "So I'm not the only one who can show memories this clearly..." he thought to himself. The first memory showed who must have been the demon next to him, Kijo, staring at several dead humans. There was only a single human left who was crawling towards her and trying to talk. To Fenrir, there was nothing wrong with these scene. Yes, she was being sadistic and practically playing with the last survivor but that's not something strange for a demon child.
The next memory that was shown to him was the same one that had been accidentally flashed earlier. From what he could tell this time... she went on a slaughter because two kids had disturbed her sleep? Demon after demon was struck down by her blade. He resisted the urge to strike her down where she stood and tried thinking of this with the same mindset from when this happened. He didn't care about increasing the demon population until he saw how destructive and stupid humans truly were which was after this event judging by the clothes and technology the demons had... He probably wouldn't have cared too much back then. He'd still probably try to duel her... but not kill her.
When he thought of it that way he calmed down some. He still wanted to kill her, but he wouldn't have even if he hadn't calmed down. And excluding the mass amount of demons that she had killed - she was kinda likeable. The memory changed again to a snowy night where she was standing next to an unfamiliar man with a face that wasn't quite visible. Only the smirk on his face was truly visible. There was a small conversation that made him feel somewhat uneasy. How could demons not believe in souls? That just didn't make sense to him. That memory ended with the man placed his hand on her chin and telling her that he loved her. Fenrir felt jealous for just a split-second upon hearing that. Maybe he was just so used to mating and raising children with so many other demons that he got the mind-set that it was his job to be with the females of the demon race and that other men shouldn't even try. He signed it off as just being overly-confident and possessive and watched the next memory.
Now it was those same two again... but she was on the ground covered in blood. The man had the same smirk as before and called her a pathetic demon. She was also completely off-guard when he attacked her from what he could tell. Well, that's what he assumed since she was questioning his motives. Fenrir felt more respect for Kijo than that man. Using trickery in fights is extremely dishonorable to Fenrir and whoever uses it doesn't deserve to be allowed the privilege of life. Even though he thinks that he wouldn't go hunt down every single trickster... he'd just never even think about sparing somebody who tried to trick him.
Then she was fighting for what seemed like must have been hours. At least they were humans that she was killing so he didn't care about any of their lives. She was fighting for a longer amount of time than he had ever fought. He hadn't even fought close to the amount of time she did since the humans killed his family and took their territory. She had eventually fled to some cave where she entered her slumber. To Fenrir - she had won. Is it possible to fight that many opponents by yourself and kill tons of them and not win? Even if she had died right there - he'd still consider it a victory for her. After all, they lost more lives than she did.
And with that, the memories ended.
”I will not kill unless I need too...now that is.”
Fenrir was... rather confused as to what he should say or do now. If anything he wanted to kill her even more than before but he had developed a sense of respect for her. He wondered whether or not he should show some of his darker memories so that hers didn't seem that bad... but he didn't really have any memories like that. Plus she seemed tired and didn't seem like she'd even pay attention with how she was now. He was truly at a loss for words.
Might as-well be honest... "Why did you show me those memories? You proved your a demon which I had already known. There is next to no difference between us. The only difference is that you've killed more demons than me. Even I killed some demons back when I was young. I've done lots of sick killing too. That's just how we were born. I guess that if Hell exists - were all going to it." then just as casually as ever he asked "Did you ever find that man and get revenge? I don't care if he's a demon - even I'd strike him down if I met him now." he was really curious though. As immature as it might sound for a demon that's almost 4000 and has over 100 children... he felt as if he just finished watched a movie that ended on a major cliff-hanger... even though he has no idea what that is.
He decided to do something stupid and take both of his katanas off of his person and placed them leaning against the wall behind him. Then he walked over to her and gestured to help her sit down. She was cautious enough of him earlier... but he didn't think she posed a threat anymore. Well not for now, she appeared to be very tired from the memories.

when the devil wants to dance with you ,YOU BETTER SAY NEVER because a dance with the devil might last you forever - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - She leaned against the cold wall of the cave, her eyes opening and she laughed shaking her head. ”I am surprise, here I thought you’d enjoy putting a puzzle together.” she spoke with a calm tone as she stared to her palms. So much blood. Of course she was sure that no one else could see it, with his next words she only tilted her head back, her hair falling back against her shoulders and back, as she let out a laugh. Just like her? She almost wanted to laugh to hard, good thing she didn’t, she tilted her head and the next words had been calm, cruel and collect- the next words held such a hate to them that for a moment it would even make her flinch.
”We are nothing alike..“
Her eyes narrowed as she pushed herself against the wall, her hands resting on her hilt. She turned her bangs covering her face as she turned her back to him, her hilt’s tightly gripped between her fingers, until her fingers turned pink then a dusty white. Nothing alike.. nothing.. I don’t want to be a demonbut i am she felt her nails dig into the soft flesh of her palms, as he mentions Kanaeasis. She closed her eyes, she couldn’t remember his face.. why.. he meant so much to her.. she couldn’t remember no one’s faces, just the dead.. just the dead- they haunted her, it plagued her like no other enemy.
”I havn’t crossed paths with him.” she spoke softly, even if she did.. she would never be able to kill him. It was sad wasn’t it, she still felt loyalty to the only man she trusted, the only creature she trusted, she trusted him more then herself. She smiled and looked down- and she didn’t even remember his face.. she closed her eyes as she took a step towards the exit of the cave. She paused, it did feel better- it was like the weight of the world was off her shoulders- yet she was sure the demon was completely clueless of her true issue.
”If it counts, you would have been doing me a favor.” she spoke against as she walked away, letting the darkness slowly devour her, her red eyes still would shine in the darkness, as if a monster under the bed of a child.
”Slain me..” all he would hear was foot steps, slow enough if he wanted to catch up he could, but a pace that was good enough for her.

”I am surprised, here I thought you’d enjoy putting a puzzle together.”
Fenrir had no idea what puzzle he was supposed to put together... or how to put it together. He knew that puzzles were images consisted of a bunch of broken pieces which when put together form the proper image... but he never liked those. He figured that she meant her memories were the puzzle pieces, but from what he saw there was no hidden message. Even a man whose had a hundred wives still can't understand women.
”We are nothing alike..“
As far as Fenrir could tell - the only real difference between them was that she killed more demons and that she was betrayed by somebody that she trusted and maybe even loved. He was taken back when she said that with her cold tone - it sounded as if she wasn't even a demon. It was something he could imagine a completely different race saying that hated demons... but she was a demon. Did she hate other demons? Did she hate herself?
”I haven’t crossed paths with him.”
He was somewhat disappointed when he heard that. He always loved hearing stories and now this one was unfinished.
”If it counts, you would have been doing me a favor
He stared at her as she began to walk away into the darkness which slowly covered her body. While he was pondering his next move he realized that he wasn't much different from that man who betrayed her. He's betrayed lots of people too, but they were all humans. And when he betrayed people he'd make sure they knew so before he attacked. He's abandoned so many demons though. Every time his children turn 5 years old - he'd abandon them and their mothers in the middle of the night without saying anything. He wasn't quite sure of the reason himself... he just did. How many of those children and mothers despised him for that? He had no idea. A lot of them thought he'd be staying around for a very long time and start a large family... he never denied doing that out-loud. If they knew of his plans to leave then they might just abandon him before he gets the chance. Of course some of the mothers didn't have a problem with that. It wasn't that strange for demons to abandon their children or each other... but that was when they weren't going extinct.
He leaned against the cave wall as her foot steps got farther and farther away - wondering what to do. He surely wouldn't be able to talk her into having a child and if he keeps on bothering her then she may attack him and he didn't want to have to fight another demon. He's gone a good 700 years without fighting a demon and he was proud of that. He didn't want to break his streak. He pushed himself off of the wall and slowly - but faster than her - began walking towards the entrance to the cave.
When she was back within his view he could see the exit right in-front of her. It was sunny outside now and the waves were getting further and further up the beach each time they rolled in. They were almost reaching the cave entrance. When he was several feet behind her he spoke up and said "So, is your family alive or do you not know them? My family all died when I was just about 200. It was a fun battle though that they died in. They died how they wanted to - I didn't even feel bad for them." that seemed like a good opening to use to show that he lost people he cared about too. Of course he was actually sad though... but he didn't regret anything. "It seems to me like you think your more cruel and messed up than the rest of us. Do you not understand that were all just as bad? I even ate a human once in my human form - the taste was actually alright. Sick, don't you think? Back in the 15th century I was part of a human army. You know what we'd do when we raided villages? Impaled the humans regardless of who or how old they were. Even children. I don't find a single thing wrong with that. And that demon that betrayed you... Well that's your fault. You let down your guard and trusted him. That probably makes you a better person than me. That's what the humans call "being human". Of course I think it applies to all of us though. Even if you didn't trust anybody else and he was the first one you connected with..." as he was saying that he realized that he didn't have anything to follow with. He felt as if saying something like that would be good but he had only thought of the first half of the sentence.
This woman was quite a bit of work. He felt like he was lecturing one of his children after they did something they shouldn't have. He was just a very fatherly person... he couldn't just see a pained demon and not try to help. Now if he saw a pained human or something else... he'd just kill them. "I will tell you this though: Were 'evil' by nature. Were not humans. That won't change. You should be proud of what you've done. Even what you did to the other demons - back then it didn't matter if some other demons died." He'd said what he wanted to say. It was up to her now whether she'd stay around or leave. If she left then he wouldn't go after her even if she wanted him to. He wasn't going to play any games. He was hoping that she'd stay though since she was 1. The first demon he's met since he got here 2. A beautiful demoness 3. He needed a place to stay and 4. Wanted to know more about the surroundings and humans here.
