Matthias rolled out of bed and he felt where his sword and bow usually are on his body sorta missing them by his side, but he told himself today is a day of rest to much training is bad for you. He threw on some clothes he had on the bed corner and he got dressed he practiced a few self control poses to calm himself more. He walked into the living room and he sat down thinking to himself of what has happened to him these past two years when he had another painful flashback and he doubled over on the couch waiting for it to stop.

Dr. Connel was paying the children a visit. He always did this, since he shared a connection with them. He didn't talk about his past, or explain how he understood what they were going through in a way. He just told them how he really did empathize with them, and showed them the scars if they asked him to prove it. Peter didn't like his job, or himself. He was a lonely man, no family waiting for him at home. He practically lived at the Scarlet Rose. His work was all he had. Usually the visits with the test subjects was about as much of a social life that he had... His footsteps brought him outside the cell of a test subject who was a success. A sabertooth in group A, he had been here for two years now according to the information on him. Peter looked into the boy's cell and noticed that he was doubled over on the couch. Peter looked at him with slight confusion hidden under his mask. His face was always a faint smile, it was the mask he used to protect himself. If you never let anyone in how could you get hurt? just because the word beloved had been carved into his skin didn't mean it was true for him. But that was a deep dark secret better saved then told. "Are you alright?" he called. His hand was placed on the clear substance separating him from the boy in his cell. It wasn't soundproof so Peter and the boy would be able to hear each other as if there were no wall between them at all. Peter was a tall man, passing six feet by three inches. His light brown hair was pulled back in a pony tail and his ears sported stud earrings. A pair of glasses rested on the bridge of his nose and he had hazel eyes, and his faint smile remained in place despite his slight worry for the test subject who was in pain it seemed. He wore a white lab coat over a black shirt, and he wore plain old dark denim blue jeans. He seemed a little girl-y but he was an attractive man still. Tall and lean, silent as he awaited an answer and hoped he wouldn't have to go call a nurse.

Matthias heard the doctor and he hoarsely replied "Yeah come on in" and he lifted himself up slowly and he waited for the pain to go away and for the doc. to enter. The pain finally went away and he shook his head and he tried to clear his thoughts as best he could.

Peter watched with the usual faint smile of his as the teen sat up and proclaimed he was fine. he was welcomed to enter. Therefore the tall man in the lab coat nodded and proceeded to enter. He shut the clear door behind him. Thankfully the technology in this place was amazing. The door closed and seemed to fade into the wall, completely disappearing except for the actual handle. It locked on its own, and only staff would be able to open the door either way. Peter turned to the boy. The faint smile still on his lips. "Well, hello. I'm Dr.Connel, you can just call me Peter. I've come to keep you a little company... I don't think I've visited you before." He had his eyes locked to the boy. Not taking them off of him. His eyes didn't show any evil. Instead they spoke the truth about what Peter was... A man obsessed with his work despite his hate for it and hate for himself, a man who was just as numb as the anesthetics that were running through some other unfortunate unsuccessful test subject still in the process of becoming a government weapon.

Matthias looked up at Dr.Connel and said "Hey Doc nice to meetcha and i don't think you have before either". He shook his head one last time to get rid of the last bit of memory."Unless you were one of the people that gave me a little shot and "duh duh" and here i am today we have never met" me laid back on the couch and he offered the doctor a seat to sit in to be more comfortable. and his ear twitched slightly and he scratched it and he flicked away what ever it was from his ear thinking 'I have no idea who this guy is or whats in store for me now but i can't deny company'

Peter's faint smile remained in place, neither shrinking nor growing. He nodded at the boy's comment. "Well its nice to meet you Matthias. Since I didn't operate on you." He looked around the boring white cell. Nothing entertaining could be found here. These poor kids were basically grounded for their entire stay here. He guessed that they might find training more interesting this way... Honestly these kids needed something to do though. "This place isn't very fun..." He commented taking a seat as the boy gestured for him to. "I like to visit you kids, since I sort of empathize with you." He looked at the other male, forcing his smile a little bit stronger. Peter didn't bother to keep his smile any wider for very long, he returned to his usual faint smile. He was prepared for a rant that told him he understood nothing. Well that wasn't true. He knew more about being caged with a bunch of other kids and then getting all cut up then most would realize. Peter hid the evidence, the scars, behind white cloth that he gently wrapped around his wrists, forearms and neck...

Matthias listen to dr.Connel and he said "Well to me it could use a splash of blue but its okay and the training keep me active" chuckling and he smoothed out his hair and he took out a small comb combing his hair around his cat ears and said"I have to keep my hair out of my ears so sounds are not muffled" and he put the comb away and asked"So have there been anymore successes of the people that have shown my little reaction" curiously and he angled one ear away from connel as if he could hear something in the distance.

Peter smiled at the boy's reply. Nodding and looking at the walls trying to imagine some blue. He turned his attention back to the boy as he mentioned his hair muffling his hearing. Peter watched as he combed the hair away, and then heard another question. Peter nodded, answering. "Yes, we've had several. The majority were infused with other animals' DNA however. "He pulled a stray strand of light brown hair behind his ear. He really hated his job. turning these kids into monsters was something eh never wanted. It was necessary however and he was going to do it. He hated himself for it, but this had to be done. "So... How do you feel your training is going?" Peter continued his fake faint smile. A mask to hide his true emotions...

"Huh then i am still the only 100% successful person to have Saber DNA transform their body" said Matt chuckling "Well that says something doesn't it" and he shook his head in amusement. "I'd say it's going well i am getting a lot better and i even made my own training program and i am fast and a dead eye with my bow and katana " said matt

He nodded as the boy talked about how he was the only successful saber tooth group A member. Well Peter couldn't say that this boy was a complete success but he had taken to it well. He listened to the boy talk about his training... Peter couldn't help but hate himself for this. He was helping to force children to do adult's jobs... Just because their growing bodies took to it better. He never wanted this to happen, but it just ended up like this. In the end it would all turn out, or at least he hoped. "That's good. Your going to be helping everyone, that is what all this is for." Peter looked at the walls again. All of this because some people had gotten greedy and decided they wanted more land. Now they were knocking on Liba's door trying to take everything they could... Greed, spite, and just selfishness... Peter really hated what the world had become. They day in his childhood when he was forced to grow up in the spur of a moment he had realized just how terrible the world could be. Peter rubbed his neck where scars hid behind white bandages. The remnants of barbed wire and a knife, carved into his flesh. He remembered every detail of that day, those two weeks prior to it... Yes, the world was a cruel place.

"Yeah i know and i will do my best to do what i think is right to help the world" said Matthias as he studied Peter while trying to not let him know it."So have you found......um anyone from the down town area around my age and if you have did sh.....they all make it through the initial change from the DNA?" he asked carefully. His saber teeth tips started showing a little "And i want the complete truth no lying. I will know if you do"

Peter nodded again as the boy said he wanted to do what was best for the world. That could mean a lot of things depending on the individual. Peter felt that it was his duty to help protect Liba, even at the cost of sacrifices. He hated how sacrifices had been a word thrown around so much. It used to have a holy meaning, now it just seemed to peeve people off and start political arguments. Peter looked over the boy again, trying to guess if this particular individual was going to really defend Liba. Or was he just another scared child, convinced that being a hero meant escaping with his pals... Peter was only human so he had no idea how the younger male felt. He could only guesstimate. When he heard the boy ask about what he understood to be a friend he was careful with his words. The question was really specific. Peter didn't have an answer for it really. So he let the boy down easy. "When the new test subjects come in us scientists rarely hear about where we got them. It's the Turics' job to go out and register new students. I apologize for being unable to answer your question informatively. Was, this friend of yours in a compromised situation?" Peter's eyes stayed locked on the boy. Nothing in his expression or body language changed. He was still the perfect mask...

"Well at least you didn't lie to me that's good"he said in relief "And no it was me that was compromised because me and my friend were jumped and i got my 'friend' safe but the price was what you see today because i was able to take them out but i lost a lot of blood so i passed out." he sighed He got up and walked around the room running his figures through his hair "And you know its not all that bad i mean i have this new power that i will use to help, but it came at a small price as well."
He rubbed the back of his neck while pacing back and forth feeling relieved to be getting this off his chest and to really think about what has happened in these two years. "I never really was out when they did it to me i kept waking up through out it and i get these flash backs from it. They are quite painful when it happens what you saw before you came in today was about half of what it usually is like"

Peter's face stayed the same faint smile as he was told he hadn't lied. Part of him was glad he didn't come across as some cruel mad scientist with nothing but lies on his pallet. The other part of him knew he was lying to himself and everyone around him by keeping this fake mask on. The permanent faint smile was going to be the death of his sanity. How long could he fake this faint pleasure in what he was doing? When really all he did was hate every breath that he took... Peter listened to the boy's short summary of a rather interesting story. Peter had a story, but it was to gruesome to be sharing with the children here. If he went around telling people about his past and his problems what would happen to him? Would he become the subject of a sob story and the crowd's pity and hatred? Would he be able to live normally? Would they ever look at him the same way again? Considering all that took place the day he got these scars there was a slim chance anyone would ever look at him the same after hearing the story. He listened quietly to the boy's story, hoping for a day when he wouldn't have to be a box of secrets... The scientist took note of the boy's symptoms. He went over it in his mind, finally settling on a logical cause. "Well if that is the case then you may have post traumatic stress. I know being cut up like that most have been a shock." Peter then proceeded to unwrap his wrist. It was barely noticeable under his long sleeves but both his wrists and his neck and upper shoulders were wrapped in bandages. The white ribbons came off his wrist easily, revealing scarred skin. It looked like barbed wire had been wrapped round his wrist, which was excitably what happened. the scars around his neck and shoulders were much worse though. The man looked at it, almost swept up into the memories of that day. Every single moment and feeling was trapped on his mind like a movie on a disc... "Painful, isn't it?" he asked quietly...
